【CALL TO ACTION: Protest Against the Chinese Super-Embassy on 8 February】
Lord David Alton, Chair of the UK Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights, stressed that China should not be given permission to build the Super-Embassy, and said,
"It seems extraordinary to me that we carry on with business as usual with the Chinese Communist Party when think what they have done through the Uyghur genocide in Xinjiang, what they've done to the destruction of democracy in Hong Kong, or the intimidation of Taiwan. There are so many depredations, and yet we carry on with business as usual."
HKDC is joining forces with UK-Hong Kongers and our Tibetan, Uyghur, Taiwanese and Chinese allies, and will gather next Saturday, 8 February, at 2:00 pm in London, outside the Royal Mint Court, to protest against this proposed new site for the Chinese Embassy.

Kevin Hollinrake MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities, disagreed with the UK Government’s move to intervene in the plan on behalf of a foreign power and said,
“Can I say very clearly that on behalf of His Majesty’s Opposition, we totally oppose this application for a Chinese super embassy on the Royal Mint Court site.”
